Deadline update for the ESA Academy Experiments Programme: The call for proposals for the Orbital Robotics Lab remains open until 14 December 2025, 23:59 CET, while the Parabolic Flights call closed on 16 November 2025.

Please note that for your application to be considered:

ALL the team members shall register on the ESA e-learning platform and enroll to this training activity.
ONLY the Team Leader submits all necessary documents detailed below.

To apply the Team Leader shall submit your Experiment Proposal, and the letter(s) of endorsement. Please carefully read the specific requirements outlined for each platform below and submit all additional necessary documents.

Parabolic flights experiment without human test subjects:
- A first draft of the ESDP. A template of the mentioned Experiment Safety Data Package (ESDP) can be found here.
Parabolic flights experiment with human test subjects:
- A first draft of the ESDP. A template of the mentioned Experiment Safety Data Package (ESDP) can be found here.
- The project must have undergone a peer review (e.g. at your university) to maximise the chances to get the approval from the ethical committee. For guidance please contact academy.experiments@esa.int.
- The endorsing professor's curriculum vitae.
- The document 'F-Preliminary Document _PRELIM_RBM_DOC 2022-01' from Novespace must be filled in. The template can be downloaded from this link.
Orbital Robotics Lab experiment without human test subjects: No additional information/description is needed.
Orbital Robotics Lab experiment with human test subjects:
- The endorsing professor's curriculum vitae.
- The documents ‘ESA-HRE-R-TLP-0006 iss. 1 Rev. 0_ARD_Template_Type 2A – Classical non-ISS SciSpacE (2022-01-28)’ and ‘LSRP Annex F – Consent Form’ must be completed. Templates can be downloaded from this link.

The documents shall be uploaded in a single zip file, named in the following format: ''EXP2025-Team name''. No additional information/description is needed.

Focus on presenting a clear concept, realistic goals, and alignment with your team’s capabilities.

Notes:

To upload files, choose to "Create" a Submission. Then you will see an option to "Add some text or to attach a file" where you can upload your zip file.
To submit your submission, click the "Create" button again. Modifications of your Submission are possible until the deadline.
We are not able to see proposals that are saved with the "Save draft" option. If you create a draft version, make sure to "Submit" it before the deadline. A corresponding button will appear after saving the draft.
NO email confirmation or notification is sent from the system but do not worry: once you have uploaded the files and clicked 'Create', we have received your proposal!
If you want to check on your side if all files are uploaded correctly, you can log-out of the e-learning platform and log in again. If you then still see the files in your Submission, all is correct.
The "Not assessed" field indicates that your proposal has not been yet reviewed by the review panel.
